"I just wanted to thank you so much and I really appreciated having you as my teacher. I’m really grateful for the fashion glossary project we did first year with you. It has helped me so much in my job interviews and it is a really good representation of my personal view of fashion.

Last week I was offered a position in communication at Iris van Herpen in Amsterdam.

They were really impressed with my portfolio and I showed them the project I did for your class.

I could not thank you enough!"

“We students immediately felt that years and years of passionate working were tied together in Olivia’s Fashion History and Sociology class. I felt so inspired by her enthusiasm of the subject which she presented as a much larger phenomena connecting it with many other disciplines.

While presenting us visuals linking different eras and designers, in her lecture she was emphasising a philosophic approach to the subject.

Sustainability is equally on her agenda, and that in its purest sense, as still today I, among other students, use methods taught by her to learn and explore more of the vast realm of fashion.

Especially through my final project I understood Olivia’s qualities as a teacher; pushing me to my limits, she has helped me gain confidence and independence. I am truly thankful to have had the opportunity of having Olivia as my mentor.”

"I met Olivia at one of her inspiring lectures in Brussels and invited her to present the fashion history in a private setting. During two days she made an overview to a small group of people of the fashion history from the ancient to modern times. It was a fascinating journey!

Olivia is a very captivating speaker and enchanting story teller. All the lectures are supported by an excellent visual material and one wishes that the learning journey never ends.

After those two days I see now fashion with different eyes, through the perspective and the new windows which Olivia opened for me in this very rich and complex world of clothes and design.

Olivia has also readily provided plenty of additional reading material and references for us to further enhance our knowledge and curiosity which she inspired.

Finally, apart from having a very solid knowledge of the fashion history, Olivia is also a very committed, responsible, dedicated and inspired person. She loves her job and this has an important impact on her students. I strongly recommend her lectures, they are those which one never forgets."

"Connecting the dots"

Coming from a completely non-fashion background, I initially experienced a great deal of difficulty in grasping the concept of fashion and art history. Ms.Olivia's classes helped a lot in my understanding and learning how to look for art, beauty, fashion especially the connection between what we have experienced in the past, what we are observing in the present and what we are predicting the future. I highly recommend her history and sociology courses if you want to learn how connecting the dots, that will be immensely valuable in terms of making the present-day analytical decisions with historical references and a creative twist in the world of Luxury and beyond.

“In the fall of 2018, I followed Ms. Olivia Luce Meyer's "History, Sociology and Philosophy of Luxury" course in my master program. Her curriculum has a unique design and spiritual content that has benefited me a lot:

I have gained a new understanding of her intrinsic relevance to history, art and fashion. This gave me great creative inspiration to improve my personal work.

I also realized that no art exists independently, and each piece works with the era and environment in which it is located to accomplish aesthetic achievements. Her knowledge of the course is wide. She has extensively introduced the various tribes of the world, including my hometown in Mongolia, and I even didn't expect to be able to face up with, in a luxury course in Paris !

She is a creative and passionate artist. Through her personal work and her social mission, I was deeply moved throughout the course.

She made me understand that the inner beauty of a person is inseparable from the quality of creativity.”

"During my Fashion Business studies, Olivia’s course was one of a kind. She opened our minds showing us an eclectic and very diverse truth of the Fashion History. Then, she empowered us to keep our own research, materialising our interests and taste in our personal fashion dictionary.

Olivia also did something that I won’t forget… she asked us to define the values that we would like to embrace in our careers… and for the first time, I chose consciously what I could give to the fashion world… "

... "I really insisted to make my one year internship to Olivia Studio. She said no until I showed my motivation by moving from my own and confortable town in Austria to Istanbul. After three months trying to make one of her patterns, she looked my work and put the finger on a simple millimeter and said: "Will you wear that ? Un-sew everything". I, finally, directly understood what she wanted to give and transmit: a crucial and indispensable taste to excellence... I was not ready, but Olivia showed me the place that I belongs to and did not let me fall down. At the contrary, she directed me to figure it out.
